St Paul’s is the parish church of the village of Coven

Currently the benefice is in vacancy.  The PCC are anxious to  support the life and work of St Paul’s CE First School in any way they can. Mrs Pauline Appleby, Churchwarden, regularly visits school, and we have two Foundation Governors, Mrs Janet Beason and Mrs Heather Brown, who are both members of the PCC.

Each half term, we enjoy a special service in school or at church to launch our new Christian Value which is then explored further during whole school worship and class worship. At other times during the school year such as Harvest Festival, Easter, Christingle and at Christmas, special services are held at school or at St Paul’s church where the children and staff usually make an active contribution by singing, performing little plays, reading and leading prayers. A very special and important service is celebrated towards the end of the summer term when those Year 4 children who are moving on, receive a special blessing as part of the service. Special ‘Family’ services are held in church to mark other occasions such as ‘Mothering Sunday’ – Palm Sunday, The Feast of St Paul etc.
